Did you know? Bell’s Fast Facts Fridays
For today’s facts we decided to steer away from our standard helmet/wheeled sports facts and talk all about Bell! Don’t worry, we’re not trying to just ring our own bell or anything…these facts are not just about us. Today we’re talking about the many “Bells” there are in this world!
1. The first Taco Bell appeared in 1962 and was the brainchild of a former U.S. Marine by the name of Glen Bell. (Las Cal Corporation)
2. For the Disney film Beauty & The Beast, the outcome of Belle, an official Disney princess and main character, can be accredited to actress Sherri Stoner, who was hired to portray the role of Belle during development. They filmed Stoner acting out various actions and mannerisms, and used the footage as inspiration for Belle’s performance. (Wikipedia)
3. The Italian word ‘Bellissimo’ translates to mean ‘very beautiful’ in English. (WordReference.com)
4. In 2006, Easton Sports and Riddell Bell Holdings (the parent company of Bell, Giro and Riddell) announced they were merging to become the company it is today, Easton-Bell Sports.
5. And, at the Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs in New Jersey (unrelated to Easton-Bell Sports, of course), scientists have received numerous awards, including six Nobel Prizes in Physics, nine U.S. national Medals of Science, seven U.S. National Medals of Technology, two Draper Prizes, an Emmy, a Grammy, and an Academy Award.
