Love bikes? Love films? Then you’re sure to love bike films, right?! Not sure? Well then, we suggest you check out the world-traveling Bicycle Film Festival presented by Brendt Barbur and Friends.

In 2001, the bike-loving enthusiast and founder of the Bicycle Film Festival was riding his bike in New York City when he was struck by a bus. While many people may have grown fearful and lost their passion for cycling, Brent became empowered by the situation. He decided there needed to be something done in support of the bicycle culture.

So why a film festival of all things? Being involved with the arts by profession (actor) it seemed fitting to Brent to show his love of bikes through music, film and art.

The festival celebrates bicycles of all kinds, from mountain biking to bike polo and BMXing.

Now in its ninth year, the 2009 Bicycle Film Festival kicked off at the end of May in Memphis, Tennessee. But not to worry – there are still many more stops to go! The festival tours through 39 cities worldwide and still has stops scheduled in cities such as Orlando, L.A., Houston, Salt Lake City, Seattle and Denver.

In fact, if you wanted to, you could bike-fest your way across the world from now until December! For the full tour schedule, check out: http://bicyclefilmfestival.com/?p=dates

So join in with the 250,000 other people who are expected to attend the festival this year and follow along with Brent when he says, “I say bikes, you say rock!” ROCK!!
